Villa Elma and the Majestic View of Mt. Banahaw in Lucban, Quezon

by Rizanoia

We went to Villa Elma in search of tranquility and relaxation, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  I definitely found what I was looking for when I arrived in this paradise amongst nature that is nestled within the foothills of Mt. Banahaw.

As soon as I arrived at Villa Elma, I was quite surprised of the structures made from the nature that has been there for centuries.  I was amazed at how the only sounds I heard were those of the trees, birds, and other wildlife, as I am used to hearing nothing but cars, trains, and planes for miles near where I live.

ACCOMMODATION

Log Cabin

Together with other friends, we stayed at the Log Cabin. My favorite part of the Log Cabin was the deck and I found myself sitting out there for hours as I simply stared out into the wooded area.  In the distance, I could hear the faintest sounds of a brook or a stream as the water continuously flowed amongst the rocks and the shoreline.

THE EXPERIENCE

I spent days wandering around the acreage that surrounds Villa Elma and it was during those times that I discovered numerous sculptures and the two stations of the cross.  One of my favorite places on the property was the hanging bridge, which people will find as they are on their way to the first station of the cross.  The view from this bridge is phenomenal and I wish that I was still there today to appreciate it some more.

I found it easy to meditate anywhere that I wandered to in Villa Elma, but I really liked the space near the wishing bell.  It was a great place to relax in nature and when I was done, I always pulled the wishing bell’s cord and made a wish.

I did find the stream that I heard from my log cabin and was happy to know that we could swim in it.  However, once I dipped my foot in, I decided that the pool would be a better option.  The water in the stream was cold, although it was refreshing!

THE MAJESTIC VIEW OF MT. BANAHAW

On the last part of touring around Villa Elma was seeing the majestic view of Mt. Banahaw.

Before heading to the resort we bought ingredients at the nearest market. We arrived around 5 in the afternoon and after leaving our bags in the room we went to their kitchen and started to cook for our dinner. The next day, we went to Elsa Cafe and the complimentary breakfast was served to us.
