Ready your car, check your engines, fill up your tank and start your Luzon road trip and get the most of this no-airplane vacation.
1. Ilocos Region
From the rich history etched in old churches, the famed mausoleum of the great dictator Ferdinand Marcos, the bodies of water and to the man-made wonders of the Patapat Viaduct, Bangui Windfarm and more, Ilocos is a worthy getaway at the Northwest section of the country.
2. Caramoan in Camarines Sur
There is a particular and special reason why of the thousands of islands in the world, Caramoan tour has been chosen not once but multiple of times to become the castaway island for the reality show Survivor. The island’s clear waters and white sand beaches are just perfect for water activities such as swimming, snorkeling and diving and some of its hidden caves can be explored through spelunking. 5. Cagayan Valley
Located at the northeastern portion of Luzon, this region is considered to be the second largest in the country. And with this size, it is not at all surprising to find interesting places to visit whether you opt to go to the coastline or the mountains. Notable sites include the beaches of Anguib and Nangarmoan, Palaui Island, Portabaga Falls, Calvary Hills, and many more.

6. Calaguas in Camarines Norte
Tourists can actually choose which of the three islands in Calaguas to visit but the most famous is Tinaga which has recently become popular among backpackers because of the backward yet peaceful getaway offered by Mahabang Buhangin. Efforts of the local community have been majorly centered on keeping the calm and serenity of the place to prevent it from becoming too commercialized or crowded.
7. Baler in Aurora
Northeast of Manila is another Philippine wonder which is home to many impressive land formations worthy of anyone’s travel. Since it graciously faces the vast expanse of the Philippines Sea, the municipality boasts of amazing beach destinations which include the Aniao Islets, Baler Bay, Cemento Beach, Dicasalarin Cove and Cobra Reef. 8. San Antonio in Zambales
This municipality stands out not because of its size. Rather, it has earned a favorable reputation because of the majestic combination of beautiful beaches and glorious mountains evident in the islands of Capones and Camara and the numerous wonderful coves which include Anawangin, Nagasa, Talisayin and Silangen.
Aside from the famous Bangus Festival, this province, which is located west of Luzon lining both the South China Sea and the Lingayen Gulf, is also known for a lot of wonderful things. Aside from its sweet mangoes and local rice muffin delicacy the Calasiao puto, it has many attractions to boast of which have drawn tourists far and wide. Favorite areas to visit in Pangasinan include the Hundred Islands and the white sand beaches of Bolinao and Dasol like Patar Beach and Tambobong Beach.
If you truly want to see the best of what man can do with nature as its platform, then going to the province of Ifugao is a must go for people who wanted to see a man-made wonder that was generations in the making – the Banaue Rice Terraces.
