My 2013 New Year’s Resolution

Always bear in mind that your own resolution to

succeed is more important than any other.
– Abraham Lincoln

Before the year ended I think of many New Year’s Resolution, but here is the top 3 of the attitudes I wanna change on my self.

I remember our Sunday Worship Service last January 2012 when we listed down our prayer requests on a piece of of paper then we dropped it on the prayer request box with a heart and mind that is full of hope that God will grant our request. Yun bang, “Lord eto po yung mga panalangin ko, nawa po ay mangyari lahat.” My no. 1 prayer request was to pass the July 2012 Nursing Licensure Exam. I was very eager on asking the Lord’s favor so lahat ng church activities na available ako ay pumupunta ako mapamadaling araw man o gabi. I was very thankful when the Lord already granted my no. 1 prayer request but that was also the start of my prayerful life into on and off prayer life. It looks like that I am only talking with Him when I want something and then forget Him already when He already gave what I want. And because I feel contentment on my life today, having a job even though it is not related on my field I’m asking no more on Him.

Before 2012 ended my grandma was confined in the hospital. There is something the Lord wants me to know so he gave me this situation. At talagang sa hospital pa ko sumalubong ng Bagong Taon, ni hindi ko man lang nakita ang magagandang ilaw sa langit. Pero kahit ganoon I feel the Lord is revealing a beautiful message to me. Eto yun,
Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV) says,
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you
great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Gusto Niya kong muling tumawag sa Kanya. At kapag ako’y tumawag Siya ay sasagot no matter what event, time or place I am going to call Him. Hindi magiging busy ang linya Niya, 24/7 open. Hindi lang yun, hindi lang Niya basta pinindot ang answer button kundi ay nagsalita pa Siya at sinabi sakin ang mga dapat kong malaman.

So this 2013, I’m going to list down again my prayer request. I learned whether He will grant my prayers or not I should not stop on praying.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV) says,
“Pray without ceasing.” In simple words
(NIV) “Pray continually.”

Syempre kakambal ng prayer ang pag-aaral ng Kanyang salita so it means once in a blue moon na lang din ako kung mag-open ng bible.

Joshua 1:8 says,
“Do not let this Book of Law depart from your mouth;
meditate on it day and night,
so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.”

In circumstances na nakakainis or every time I feel angry I can’t control my mouth saying bad words. Kumbaga dun ko nairerelease yung nararamdaman ko. Pero hindi pala dapat maging ganun, we should use our tongue correctly and in giving glory to our Lord.

Psalms 35:28 (NIV) reveals,
“And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness
and of thy praise all the day long.”

Prayer, bible and cursing are basically necessary for a person who wants to be in tune with the spirit. To put it plainly with the Holy Ghost. Hope you have done this already or they are now your guiding posts for well-balanced way of life.

I never make new year’s resolution because I know I can never fulfill mine. I prefer to be spontaneous. But for everything I do, I always pray. 🙂

Not bad for a New Year’s Resolution. But i stopped believing on it when i entered college. It’s like promises that are made to be broken. However, i changed having NYR every year to yearly goals! 😉
