Because it’s weekend again, here is another must visit place in Zambales, the Magalawa Island!
Magalawa is also know as Island of stars, why? Because there are many starfish in this island.
There are two resort in Magalawa Island, Zambales, the Armada and Ruiz.
We chose Armada Resort for our 2 days and 1 night accommodation. Please see screenshot on their website for the package rate.

How to get there
- Take the Sta. Crus rout of Victory Liner from Pasay/Cubao/Caloocan bus terminal. Drop off in Brgy. Pangolingan, Palauig
Fare: 300 php
Travel time: 4-5 hours
- Take a tricycle to Armada or Ruiz Compound. The tricycle can only accommodate 2 persons and expect a rough road ride.
Fare: 100-150 php each
Travel time: 45 minutes-1 hour
- Ride a boat going to Magalawa Island
Fare: 50 php each
Travel: 15-20 minutes
Snorkeling – included in the package
Island Hopping – 1,500/6-8pax
Fare – 500 php each for a van rental good for 15 pax (2 way).
Accommodation/food/others – 1,000 php (round-trip boat transfers, environmental fees, life vest, entrance fee, tent, complete meals for 2 days and 1 night are included in the package)
Total – 1,500 php only
We were group of 15 so renting a van was a good idea to lessen our travel expenses.
If you’re going solo and will travel via public transportation, fare will cost 1,000 pesos.

11:50am – Ride tricycle to drop you off to Armada Compound
12:50 pm – ETA at Armada Compound
