Spending a lot of time using a liquid liner makes me always late at work or in an event. I guess I’m spending 15-20 minutes just to perfect my winged eyeliner. So when it comes to easiness, a gel liner is much easier for me to use than liquid eyeliner. If we have the same case and you’re always running out of time, this L.A. Girl Gel liner might be for you.
L.A. Girl Gel Liner in Very Black | Php 250.00
I’ve seen this gel liner for the very first time on Ms. Ann Clutz YouTube Channel. I thought this is only available through online but I was greatly surprised when I saw L.A. Girl counter at SM Department Store near us. So I bought two L.A. Girl Gel Liner, one for me and one for my September ROM winner.
I love the black packaging; it tells me that “what you see is what you can get”.
What does L.A. Girl Gel Liner claim?
This gel liner has a rich and creamy water resistant formula that glides on smooth without smearing or smudging for long lasting, all day wear. Professional fine eyeliner brush expertly defines eyes to create that ideal smokey or dramatic look effortlessly.
This gel liner comes with a bonus gel liner. However, the brush looks like a lip brush for me. It is also separates on each other after several uses. I’ll be happy if this is an angled brush.
I prefer to use the very black shade. This is also available in brown and dark brown shade. This gel liner is also good to define your eyebrows. After applying this on my lids I am using the remaining products on my brows subtly to make it look natural. If this is too dark for your brows, you may opt to use the the brown or the dark brown shade.

After almost two hours, the gel liner is still visible on my eyelids. It didn’t smear or smudge under and outer corner of my eyes.

After 7 hours, the gel liner slightly transfers on my upper lids due to my oily eyelids. But still, no smearing or smudging happened. If you have oily lids like mine, be sure to use an eye primer prior to applying this gel liner.
And to know if this is really water resistant, I also used this both on my eyes and brows during our school swimming activity. And yes! It’s water proof! However, it started to smudge under my eyes after two hours of swimming.
Pros (during casual day)
- very affordable
- water resistant
- easy to apply
- doesn’t smear or smudge easily
- long lasting
- can also be used as brow liner
- available in SM Department Stores
- the brush
- it transfer on upper eyelids (for oily lids)
- stays only for two hours during swimming activity
- Definitely yes!
I hope this L.A. Girl Gel Liner review will be helpful for you. I’m still looking for an affordable gel liner that won’t transfer and good for those with oily lids. In case you know some, please let me know.
