When I received an email that Nuffnang will be helding an event at Dusit Thani Hotel Makati I quickly joined their IG contest for the free ticket. Then someone tag me on Nuffnang’s IG photo and I saw my username was included in the 60 winners. Before, I was hesitating to attend blog events that are far from Cavite, but now that I’m working at Makati I didn’t hesitate to grab the opportunity that was given to me.
Here are the 4 lessons I learned from Nuffnang Blogopolis Shifting Gears
1. Use your social media to influence others. – Ivan Henares
For me, the line above is the summary of what all the speakers said that day. It’s also related to what Sen. Bam Aquino last say – “Help on getting the message across.” On this part, I’ve learned that we should use our social media accounts to voice out what others should hear. The simple sharing or retweeting of status of the advocacies on helping our community is really a great help.
Sen. Bam Aquino
2. Be smart on crafting your content. – Pepper.ph
I’ve learned that we should choose the right words to say. Once your blog post was published everyone can already see and read it and there is no turning back.
3. If you have something to say, choose the best language. – Gang Badoy
Ms. Gang is my most favorite speaker. I just knew her for the first time and her 10 minutes talk really makes sense for me. I’ve learned from her that you have to take an action on blogging. And sometimes, as a blogger you also have to take a risk.
4. Reply to your readers as much as possible
There are bloggers that are always busy on writing another fresh content for their readers however; they forgot to give attention on their readers concerns. I’ve learned that we should be balance on giving time on writing for our blog and also give time on answering to our blog readers.
L-R: Abe Olandres, Josh Villanueva, Jeff Lo, Jackie Go
5. Have a day off on blogging
Go-Jackie-Go suggested that in order to avoid writer’s block we should keep our laptop off and rest from blogging.
I’m so thankful to be a part of this event. And I’m hoping to attend again next year.
Now it’s your turn. What did you learned on Nuffnang Blogopolis 2015?
