23rd Birthday at Picnic Grove, Tagaytay City

In my 22 years of life I haven’t experienced yet a super bonggang (expensive) birthday. It’s always been a simple celebration with my family, with a small cake and some foods that are always present on an occasion. Or sometimes it’s kinda an ordinary day and I just slept it over without celebrating at all.

But on my 23rd birthday I celebrated it in a different aspect. Birthdays are once in a lifetime moment on a person, so why would I just skip it again if I could make my day a different and memorable? So here what I did.

I made a research first about the Picnic Grove in Tagaytay City. Of course I want a different day but I don’t want it to be expensive as much as possible. After a research I already have an idea how much money will I going to spend. I decided not to spend on horseback riding, Zipline and boat ride. I can’t afford this so a simple walk, picture taking and eating would be enough for me. So much for that, let’s move on how I had a different and memorable birthday experience.

I took an air conditioned bus from Dasmarinas City, Cavite going to Olivarez, the fare was 41 pesos. From Olivarez I took a jeepney going to Picnic Grove worth 10 pesos and the entrance fee is 50 pesos. While walking, there are a lot of people offered a horseback ride, boat ride and a room for rent. As I promised I will not spend too much so I refused their offer.

I’m kinda disappointed with the temperature because I didn’t feel any coldness. Is that because of global warming? Tsk tsk tsk! I brought a jacket pa naman because I was expecting I’ll be needing that but I was wrong.

I haven’t tried the zipline there because I am scared like hell Lol. Tagaytay is always our favorite family getaway because it is only an hour from Manila. Belated Happy Birthday.

What is a bongga birthday celebration for you? We may have different meanings to “bongga” because scavengers treat a piece of decent bread as bongga already when every day they find soot and garbage for food.

The photos speak for themselves, you did have a fun Birthday celebration. Wow! I like how you look, para ka lang si Snow White sa dress mo.

Actually I can’t find a word that suites my taste of what “bongga” is in english. But as far I as I know it means glamorous or exaggerated thing. Thanks, if you know some words that you can suggest much better so I can change it.
